Get a piece of gridiron nostalgia!
One of the oldest and most significant college football jerseys in existence is now up for auction. Heritage Auctions is auctioning off an 1895 game-worn Princeton jersey. The wool turtleneck features Princeton’s prototypical orange sleeve stripes with the proper style 5″ “P” sewn at front and center. The jersey has the original Spalding tag. There are several spots on the jersey where holes have been sewn up presumably from game wear and tear.
The auction site has the jersey valued at $75,000+. The highest bid is currently $18,500. The auction will continue until the live auction at Heritage’s main galleries in Dallas, TX on May 4th, 2012.
Could you imagine adding this to your sports memorabilia?!!!
