On to Columbia and the start of Ivy Conference play. A fresh restart. And the first step is in the heart of the city, against Columbia. The Lions are looking to start league play on a positive, but we’re due.
Originally, the tailgate plan was to leave the RV at the campsite and take the subway to the stadium. We found a parking lot campsite on the Jersey side, Liberty Harbor RV Resort, that has a great view of the city. But fellow Tiger Rv’er and senior parent Dave Megay has thrown it down and threatened to take away my Tiger card if we don’t roll into the city with our RV, plant the flag and start the day off right.
So, here we go, with the plan to caravan across the George Washington Bridge to some site that is described to me as an empty lot across the street and near the stadium. Apparently, it’s safe as I’ve heard it’s surrounded by razor wire.
I’m sure it will be fine and everyone keep in mind that the tailgate’s going urban. More to come (via PUTigerTailgate twitter & the TigerTailgate facebook wall on game morning) on the exact location as its scouted out. But make sure you plan on being part of the Tiger Tailgate … just look for the 2 RV’s and join us in “the city” early Saturday! Kick off is at 12:30pm for this week’s Princeton at Columbia football game.
